Ein Molassefänger hat eine wichtige Funktion, denn oft hat man bei feuchterem Tabak das Problem, dass Molasse aus dem Tabakkopf austritt. Dadurch werden Rauchsäule und Bowl verschmutzt und die Shisha wirkt schnell unappetitlich. Der Molassefänger verbessert also die Hygiene und Optik der Shisha und verlängert so auch deren Lebensdauer.
